As the Special Olympics Malta Invitational Games will officially end this evening with a spectacular closing ceremony in Valletta, Maltese athletes scooped an incredible 192 medals.
The haul includes 65 gold medals, 60 silver, and 67 bronze medals after a very remarkable and exciting four days of practical inclusivity through sport.
The very first international Special Olympics event in Europe in almost two and a half years brought together close to 1,000 athletes from 23 countries.
